Eeeeeee! Yuletide nominations!

I am going to nominate Angel Sanctuary, Meljean Brook's Guardian series, and Jay Chou's music video of Qing Hua Ci, but I am coming up blank for other stuff! People! What should I nominate? What are you nominating? Trading and bargaining completely acceptable!

(OMG it is so good knowing that this year, I will not be desperately trying to write papers and finish final projects while also trying to write my Yuletide fic!)

Also the new fandom eligibility rules are kind of strange, especially for those of us who play more in the anime/manga sphere of things, which is definitely one of the less populated areas of AO3. So... will they whack down Fruits Basket or Vampire Knight, which have 40-70 stories in the archive? Inquiring minds would like to know!

I nominated the Kokinshuu! I'm not sure quite how one would go about writing for it, but it is a thing I feel should be on the list. *nods*

And I'm not quite sure about Fruits Basket or Vampire Knight, but Princess Tutu is probably going to get through, and it has sixty-ish fics on AO3. Maybe?

I don't know how nominations work, but I'd love to see Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead nominated, with slash requested.

I am really psyched that The Girl with Silver Eyes has been nominated! I will nominate it again if it gets de-nominated!

I am thinking of Marjorie Liu (Dirk & Steel), Cindy Pon (Silver Phoenix), and maybe, randomly, Dick Francis's Sid Halley books. Everything else I might request that I can think of offhand has already been nominated.

Yeah, it's only the innate goodness of my heart (PAUSE FOR LAUGHTER) that keeps me from nominating Battletech, which has 0 stories on AO3 because I really do not think the wargamer giant robot guy crowd tends to hang out there, but which has stories elsewhere, although sadly even the Pit of Voles is kind of failing me here.

I am nominating Jade Empire, which is a computer game based on China and inspired by wuxia; it seems to do better at the cultural representation front than Legend of the Five Rings but I am obviously not a great judge here.

I was tempted to nominate RPF - Imjin War, but am terrified that the system is going to give me a propaganda piece [1] on how glorious and awesome Hideyoshi is. Which, I am normally a little better at detaching from history, but this is my history. I am still thinking about it. But probably no one will offer it, and then I am afraid of there being a big hairy debate over what to call the war.

[1] Which is not to say the Korean side is propaganda-free! But it's my side.

AO3 is also a very small piece of fandom overall so it seems strange they're using it as the main criteria. It tends to attract people who write in more obscure series while completely bypassing some huge ones like Metal Gear Solid.

I nominated Jo Walton's Tooth and Claw, because I re-read it last week and desperately need more Victorian-novel-with-dragons-ness.
