Yay! I am so excited even though it's only October! I appear to love the most obscure things ever, so rest assured, no matter what you pick, I will probably keel over in excitement just to have fic!

So feel free to read more under the cut if you'd like, or feel free to ignore it.

I usually blog as oyceter on LJ; this is my Not-So-Sekrit fic blog.

I like gen, het, f/f, and m/m. I am very pro-female-characters and very pro-characters-of-color; I will probably fall over dead of squee for women of color. I tend to dislike non-con and rape and love triangles that involve people cheating; I always feel bad for the person left out. Here are some of my Cool Bits with an added note that you do not have to include any of them for me to love your story! Please feel free to ignore them!

I'm also linking to stuff I've written up on my requested fandoms in my main LJ if it'll help.

  • 20th Century Boys: I've read the entire series, though I haven't read 21st Century Boys yet. I adore all the characters, from Kanna and Kenji to Kenji's childhood friends to the Italian priest to the Chinese and Thai gang lords. I love the metatextuality of the manga, the insane plotting, the way Urasawa makes me care about all his secondary characters, the tight friendships and bonds between all the characters.

  • Ellen Kushner's "The House of the Nine Doors": This is a short story in the Terri Windling and Ellen Datlow anthology Sirens. I love the gender-bending and the cross-dressing. Every time I read the short story, I read Ellen Kushner's note that she had planned a series on this world and curse the publishers who turned her down. So mostly I just want anything in this world, from backstory to smut to character studies.

  • Honey and Clover: I love this series so much! I think it is my favorite anime. I adore all the characters, though my favorites are Hagu, Yamada and Nomiya. And Takemoto. And Hanamoto-sensei. And Miwako. I love Harada design shenanigans, I love Hagu and her art, I love Yamada's unrequited love and what happens, I love the ferris wheels and the circles of friends and that feeling of being completely lost and without a purpose. I've seen the entire series, but I haven't read the manga. But you are free to include extra bits from the manga!

  • Nana: One of my favorite manga series ever! I'm currently up to vol. 14, though I'm hoping to read more soon. I think the only person in the series that I don't like is Shouji, though Yazawa makes me feel for him too. Such is the power of Yazawa Ai! Like H&C, I love all the relationships in the manga and how complicated and real they feel. Er, more details in the link, since I am afraid of spoiling people.

In conclusion: yay! And I hope you have fun writing whatever you choose, and thank you so much!

Hi hi! Your initial comment on the story was one eaten by the Dreamhost monster, so I never got it emailed to me. I hope you don't mind me commenting here. I just wanted to let you know that I was so glad that I could write you something that you enjoyed so much. I think that this is officially the tiniest fandom I've ever written for Yuletide! I had a lot of fun writing it and in fact kind of wrote it twice, as the first time I was going at it from Gwai's point of view. It turned out ok that way, but it didn't really focus on Eyas enough, and I didn't want the focus to be an OC for a fandom request. I was very very happy with the finished product, though, and I'm glad that it made you happy, too! :)

I don't mind at all! And I am so, so happy that you wrote it, especially because it is the tiniest fandom ever, and I'm extremely grateful since it's so obscure!

And hey, I loved your OC ^_^.

I'm glad I offered it, then. :) And I'm glad you liked Gwai! OCs in fandom have such a bad reputation and are so hard to sell sometimes in fandom. But I couldn't see using any of the other characters from canon for Gwai's type of character, so I had to call on someone else. ^__^ I'm so glad that it worked!
