Ah yes, it is that time of year to babble about things I wrote. Also, just for the heck of it, I'll dabble with the commentary meme again.

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
Well, given that I had written three stories last year, all around December, and that the last time I wrote fiction was about eight years ago, I'd say I wrote a LOT more than I predicted. This is largely because I didn't predict that I'd be writing at all.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2006?
Again, I didn't think I'd end up writing at all. It's still a little odd thinking of myself as a writer; I feel like an imposter sneaking into the club. I wrote slash for the first time this year, and quite a lot of it too. I wrote largely for manga fandoms, which was also surprising.
What's your favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest?
Promises Unbroken, which was possibly the most ambitious thing I wrote this year. Runner-ups are Holidays Past and Future and Five Things Kenren Brought Tenpou from the Lower World.
Did you take any writing risks this year? (See above for unexpected pairings, etc.) What did you learn from them?
I wrote! I learned that maybe I am sort of a writer, or at least I am if I put enough padding in there so I don't scare myself off. I keep harping on this, but really, I've been insisting to myself for years and years that I'm not a writer and never felt the desire to be, so this is really quite odd.
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?
To do Yuletide again, if RL permits. To try and write non-present-tense non-vignettes.
From my past year of writing, what was...
My Favorite Story: Again, Promises Unbroken
My Best Story: Promises Unbroken; it was larger in scope than anything else I'd written.
Story Most Underappreciated by the Universe: Probably Holidays Past and Future, but I knew that going in, my Yuletide recipient left lovely comments, and really, it's a tiny, tiny fandom.
Most Fun: The teeny Kakashi's Five Favorite Books, which is really more a list than a fic. That's probably why it was fun ;).
Most Sexy: I'm guessing Hearts Like Flowers, which is the only smut I've written?
Story with a Single Sexy Moment: A Treatise on Tactics, because I love Tenpou and Kenren teasing each other. Also, Tenpou is evil, and that is always sexy.
Holy crap, that's wrong: I don't think I wrote any of these...
Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: Hrm, this is tough. I usually write characters who I know and love, and I write what I think they're like. I guess Five Things that Never Happened to Sohma Rin shifted my perceptions, largely because I didn't think about her that much in the first place.
Hardest to Write: Again, Promises Unbroken. I rewrote this one so many times. Note to self: do not write stories spanning 500 years again.
Biggest disappointment: I feel bad about this one, but probably Harems and Hens. I never quite felt like I caught the voice of the movie, and I really wanted to for my Yuletide recipient.
Biggest surprise: Five Things Kenren Brought Tenpou from the Lower World. It was just a random drabble at first, and I wasn't even sure if it was any good, since it was taken right out of Five Books Tenpou Keeps Next to His Bed. But it got really lovely responses from people, and I'm very happy with it.
A story I want remembered: For the last time, Promises Unbroken
